Welcome to Cannon County!
Nestled in the beautiful foothills of Middle Tennessee, Cannon County was first established on January 31, 1836, when the state legislature took portions of Rutherford, Smith, and Warren Counties to create the new county of Cannon, named in honor of Whig Governor Newton Cannon. The city of Woodbury, where the Cannon Inn is located, has always served as its primary town and has a population of 14,216 (2017). It may be a small town but it is also home to many unique local businesses, antique shops, theatre and arts venues and scenery that will have you reaching for your camera.
